We're trying to get alumni support for the Climate Campaign by sending them letters explaining the Climate Crew's goals and activities. We ask the alumni to write to President Hennessy and sign our petition.

Please help mail letters on the Stanford Climate Change Campaign to alumni!

Directions

1. Go to the Google document and sign up for your alumni region. (Check your e-mail for an invite.)

2. Visit http://www.stanfordalumni.org/erc/regions/home.html and find out the contact information

for your local Stanford Alumni organizations.

3. Contact those organizations and get alumni mailing addresses (you may need to ask the local coordinator for this info).

4. Download and mail TWO DOCUMENTS to each address:

(1) the template letter and (2) the info sheet that describes our project.

Feel free to make changes to the template letter, and be sure to fill in your name, address, year, etc.

Please print the info sheet on one piece of paper doublesided

5. Respond here to share with everyone how the process is going!

Hi all! How many stamps do we need to put on one envelope?

Thanks, John (12/20/06)

Since we're only mailing two sheets of paper (the letter and the two-sided info sheet), we probably only need one first class stamp. But you may want to check.

Should we ask for the email or the mailing addresses of the alumni? There are over 1000 alumni in Nevada, so I don't think it would be the best idea to snail mail each of them.

I've been targeting those alumni most likely to care about the issue and support us, specifically, those who majored in something environmental. Maybe you could snail mail them and email those with other majors? Any other thoughts?
